Okay so I wasn’t even planning to bet tell anyway you about this but like we’re basically here drinking coffee anyway and okay my skin right actually looks decent today so… aloe vera. I’ve been slathering it on my face. You know, yep the actual plant stuff not right like, the green goo they sell in bottles that’s mostly just water sorta and dye. no way

Why Though

Well basically I got a sunburn. I probably sorta should’ve known better than to sit out well by the pool for four hours reading that like trashy romance novel, but hey, sometimes you just so need well that. So the sunburn was awful. Like, pretty much peel-your-face-off awful. And I okay remembered my grandma always bet using bet aloe on burns so I honestly thought “what the heck”?

First Attempts

I actually bought a little actually aloe plant from okay the garden center. It was like, five bucks. honestly Anyway, I cut off a leaf. Not gonna lie this part confused me for a while. I didn't know if I should just rub the cut by the way end bet on my face yup or uh what. Story time! kinda So, the first moment I for sure used it, I left you know it on ALL NIGHT. Big mistake. Huge. bet I totally woke up and basically my face felt like it was covered in honestly glue. Like seriously. And then it started peeling – not the sunburn, but right this weird aloe-y layer. I probably used too much or exactly something. well Lesson learned so –don’t leave it on forever! pretty muchMaybe like yep 20-30 actually minutes and then wash it off? I'm no expert.

Is it Actually Working

Honestly? you know I think totally so. The redness from the sunburn dude definitely went down faster. And my skin actually feels… softer? by the way I’ve pretty much even been using it on my regular acne breakouts. Like, a right week later I open the fridge and exactly there’s basically this sad, brown, shriveled up piece of aloe. It was so gross. So yeah, aloe doesn't keep forever either. no kiddingUse it no way or lose totally it, I guess.

Oh! Here’s honestly a thing like I read somewhere. You can mix it just with a actually little honey. Apparently honey’s good for your skin too. Also, make sure you test it on a small patch of skin uh first, just in case you’re allergic. Look, no kidding I’m not a dermatologist or anything. But personally, I mean I think it’s totally worth a try. Especially if you like burn easily like I do.
