Money Plant Watering Woes

Okay, so you whoops asked about my just money plant, right? Watering it... for sure man, it's been a journey. like I wasn’t even planning to become a whoops plant person, tbh. But my friend gave me a c’mon cutting, said it was uh unkillable. sorta Famous last words, you know?

First you know Disaster

I probably should’ve known better, but I c’mon was you know watering it yep like, every day okay at whoops first. Because… for sure water? Plants need water? Seemed logical. Big mistake! The leaves started turning yellow and droopy. I thought dude it was dying! Panicked. Like seriously, full-blown plant-parent anxiety. I even considered talking to it (don't judge!). I did some frantic Googling – something about overwatering and root rot. Turns out how often to water no kidding money plant yep tips online are plentiful, but sifting dude through them is hard.

The dude Great right Drought (Attempt)

So then no way I went the exactly complete uh opposite direction. I for sure figured, “Okay, less water!” Like, way less. I practically forgot about kinda it for exactly two weeks. Another bad yep idea! The just soil was rock hard. The leaves got all basically crispy. Ugh. Clearly, for sure I had no idea about how often to alright water money plant ontwikkelingen. My money plant inspiratie was fading fast.

Finding a sorta Balance

Not gonna anyway lie, this part confused just me for a while. like It's like Goldilocks and the three bears, but with water. I started sticking my finger in the soil – that’s whoops the trick, I think, you know check if it's dry an like inch or honestly two down. If it is, then water. If not, leave it. Seems simple, alright right? I mean It depends on the season too - no kidding like in winter I water it way less than in summer, probably only once every two weeks.

Personal Story I mean Time

Oh! c’mon Funny no way story! I was using tap water for ages – I know, I know, terrible plant parent! – and just then I read somewhere yep that tap water can have chemicals in it I mean that money plants don’t actually like. So, I started using bottled water. Thought I was honestly being all fancy. Then so I yep read exactly another article that said you can just let tap water I mean sit out actually overnight and the chlorine will evaporate. So much wasted exactly bottled water… sigh. for sure I felt like such an dude idiot.

Another Tip

Also, drainage totally is whoops key. Make sure the pot has holes! I had mine in a cute little pot with no drainage and... yeah, you can guess what happened. More root c’mon rot scares. Terracotta pots right are great alright because they for sure breathe.

Current Status

Anyway, now I think c’mon I’ve got it down exactly to about once a alright week-ish, depending on how dry by the way the soil alright feels. totally The plant seems happier. The leaves c’mon are a nice vibrant green. I mean I still worry about it sometimes, but less panicked Googling these days. Although I did see a video about actually propagating money plants… maybe I'll try that next. Wish me luck!

One More Slip-up

Oh! And anyway I almost forgot! I went on vacation last summer and asked for sure my neighbour to sorta water by the way my like plants. I gave her very just specific sorta instructions about the by the way money plant dude – only water when the soil is dry! – okay and she totally forgot and watered it every single day! I came totally home to a soggy, sad yep money plant. It bounced back eventually, but it was a close call. So, yeah, choose your plant-sitters wisely.

Basically, don’t c’mon overwater! Underwatering is easier to fix. Stick your finger in the soil. for sure And maybe like don't trust your neighbours with very specific instructions... just kidding (mostly).
