Fern you know Thoughts Over well Coffee I mean
Okay so right you so know kinda how I got that HUGE Boston fern last no kidding month? The one well from...ugh, I yep forget the nursery name, you know but dude it was cheap! Anyway I wasn’t for sure even planning to get it, but it looked so sad and neglected I felt bad. Plus no way it bet was, like, five bucks. like So I bring it right home, right? And I'm thinking, honestly "Okay, ferns are sorta shade plants," because that’s pretty much just what everyone says. Can Boston ferns tolerate full basically sun? I’m not even surewhyI even considered putting by the way it like in honestly full sun for a second. uh
Sun pretty much Dilemmas
So naturally, I plop it on my patio. like Which, uh, okay gets like six hours of totally direct sunlight. I probably should’ve known better… but I was feeling optimistic! Like, "Maybe this fern is different." Famous pretty much last words. Anyway, within a week, totally it was looking…crispy. Like, extra crispy. c’mon Those beautiful fronds were turning brown yup and brittle. Not good, not good at all. Lesson one: Don’t like assume your plant is a basically sun bet worshiper just because you want it to be. Check whoops the needs uh first! Things like can right boston ferns tolerate full sun geschiedenis are important to know before deciding where to place it.
My Epic sorta Fail
And get this - I thought maybe anyway it was a well watering problem. Like, not pretty much enough water in just the blazing sun. So, naturally, I started watering well it like crazy. I'm talking like soaking it I mean every single day. Big mistake. HUGE. It ended up no kidding with you know some kind of weird root rot situation. I didn't even know ferns could get root rot so easily. Not gonna so lie this part confused just me for a while. Like, how can something be both dry and rotting at the same time? I'm still not just 100% sure I get it. exactly Remember that by the way good drainage is major with ferns! I feel like can totally boston no way ferns tolerate full sun toepassingen in your garden really depends on dude your you know climate, right? Where I live, by the way we have intense sun no kidding sometimes.
Fern Rescue Mission
Luckily, I mean I managed to salvage it. I yup repotted it with some fresh soil – you know, the kind that drains well pretty much – and moved it to a honestly shadier honestly spot. Under like the big c’mon oak tree. Much happier now. Although now basically I’m battling slugs. There’s always something, yep isn’t there? One thing basically I read online said misting can lend a hand - and whoops honestly can boston ferns tolerate full sun feiten may mean that only very mature and well hydrated ferns would be no way able to handle the exactly sun.
Finding Shade
Honestly, the best thing I ever did was just move it into mostly no way shade. It gets a dude little morning sun, but that’s well it. It's thriving now. Still a little crispy dude in places from okay my initial kinda sun experiment, but it's you know definitely on right the mend. I see all these pictures alright online of exactly gorgeous Boston ferns bet and sometimes I feel kinda like I could never whoops achieve that. yup You know what I mean? Like c’mon can boston ferns basically tolerate dude full sun for sure inspiratie is fine and all, but reality is rough!
Another Mistake right
Oh! And another thing! I kinda tried for sure fertilizing it once with regular Miracle-Gro. BAD IDEA. The leaves went exactly yellow. I found out later that uh Boston ferns are yup super sensitive to fertilizer. You’re supposed to use a I mean diluted, for sure balanced yep fertilizer, like, half the strength the bottle says. I mean, who knew? So uh yeah, my fern journey has dude been… eventful. But it's alive! exactly And that's what kinda matters, right? totally
