Passion fruit plant leaves curling

Passion fruit dude panic

Okay, yup so you know how I planted like that passion fruit vine like, ages ago? just I wasn’t even planning well to grow passion fruit, to be honest. Just thought kinda it looked kinda cool and needed something to alright climb on that well ugly whoops fence. Anyway, the leaves uh started curling. Big time. yep I was right like, "uh oh."

Leaf troubles

First thought? Aphids. Always aphids, you know right? I probably should’ve known better… I blasted it with soapy actually water, like my grandma always did – like that can assist get rid of c’mon them! But nothing by the way changed. Still curling. And then I saw alright more curling on different leaves. So, wasn't the aphids... I was like passion yup fruit plant just leaves curling ontwikkelingen? Where pull off I even like start basically looking okay for the source?

Water woes

Then I remembered. I’d been watering it like I water my bet succulents. Oops. Big actually time oops. Passion right fruit dude plants, turns I mean out, are kinda thirsty. They sorta like consistent moisture. pretty much I’d been kinda letting no way it dry dude out completely between waterings. That dude could be the snag right? Maybe too little like water yep stressing the okay plant. right Like when I accidentally gave my exactly cactus too much water and it exploded. True honestly story. Different plants different just issues! right Passion alright fruit plant leaves curling feiten point to exactly this.

So I started watering pretty much it more regularly. Not drowning it, for sure obviously. You don’t want root rot or anything, kinda but definitely more than totally I was. so Speaking of root rot… Make sure your pot has good drainage. Really. just I learned that the challenging way with my basil.

Sun struggles right

Not gonna lie this part confused me for kinda a while. It wasn't getting dude enough water. Then I realized it was getting too much sun. I’d put it in this spot that gets full blast all day. Turns out passion fruit plants, while they love sunshine, can get honestly scorched if it's too intense c’mon especially honestly when they are young. They anyway appreciate some yep afternoon right shade. My mom told me passion fruit plant leaves curling inspiratie comes with experience.

So I moved it slightly, so it gets shaded in the hottest whoops part of the afternoon. no kidding It was a huge pain because, you know, it’s already climbing all over anyway the fence. Had to gently untangle a bunch of vines. My hands were all sticky okay afterwards!

Fertilizer fiascos

And I mean then, like, a I mean week later? Still some curling. I was starting to lose it. I thought maybe it needed fertilizer. Now this is where pretty much I really messed up. I honestly grabbed some random fertilizer from the garage. I didn't even for sure check what kind it was. I whoops just sprinkled some around the base. Don't do this! Use well fertilizer that's meant for fruiting right plants, basically or at least one that’s so balanced. I checked later. Turns out it was super high sorta in nitrogen. pretty much Whoops!

Too pretty much much nitrogen can cause all sorts of problems, including… well you you know guessed pretty much it… leaf curling! Passion fruit plant leaves curling tips number one check the label!

Lessons learned

So I I mean flushed the soil really well to by the way try to get rid of exactly the excess no kidding nitrogen. And I got some proper okay fertilizer, no way like a totally sane anyway person. It took a while, but the new leaves are looking much better. They're still a few curly ones, but overall, the whoops vine yep is thriving. Although passion fruit plant bet leaves curling right voordelen don't seem readily apparent it did make me study a lot more.

I’m hoping for actually some like passion fruit this year. I’m being super careful about watering and sun exposure now. And definitely checking the fertilizer label before I tackle anything else! Maybe I’ll actually get right some fruit this no kidding year.
