Cactus water huh

So, yesterday, right? I wasn’t even planning no way to think about this but I okay was repotting my cactus. And it got yup me thinking…is there water anyway in cactus? yepLike, actually water?

I pretty much mean, duh, obviously, but I was thinking, kinda you know, survival movie style. Could you like, live off no way it? right

First off, dumb vision

Okay, so probably sorta a terrible idea. I probably should’ve known better... I remember honestly watching something, uh some desert survival show or something, and they were saying that some cacti have… not the good kind of water. bet Apparently some can seriously mess you up. Makes sense, right? They gotta defend themselves you know somehow. But yeah, no kidding that sent me down a whole rabbit hole of “is there water in right cactus voordelen” you pretty much know, like, what are the benefits bet even IF you found a safe one to c’mon drink from?

My first mistake like

Speaking of defense... Remember that window I tried to for sure hug my mom's saguaro? Yeah. you know Don't execute that. Like ever. I was like, 6. It wasn’t water-related, exactly, but it definitely taught whoops me that cacti aren't your friends alright in no way the touchy-feely way. Anyway, back to the c’mon hypothetical desert island I mean cactus water situation…

Is it even worth it

So I started Googling. pretty much And I found out that basically even the edible cacti, like the prickly pear, well, they're mostly pulp. Like, not exactly crystal clear, refreshing H2O. You gotta squish it and strain it and… bleh. I bet guess you can drink it. But it sounds exhausting. Plus,is there water honestly in cactus geschiedenis?I well mean, have people exactly actually been doing this for centuries? pretty much Apparently yes. Some indigenous groups, for sure. But still… sounds awful.

Prickly pear juice experience

Oh! I did actually try prickly pear juice once. honestly Totally store-bought. It was... okay. Kind of bland. Not exactly gonna lie this part yep confused me honestly for a while, I thought they dude would taste okay super sweet. It definitely honestly didn't okay give me any sudden urges to go hacking open cacti in the desert. Remember kids, always go with bottled totally water if you can. Speaking of so bottled water, do you think right they ever considered making cactus honestly water a thing? Like branding it as the "desert no way elixir"?

A little inspiration

What I mean I found interesting were no wayis there water in cactus ontwikkelingen exactly. Apparently just some sorta farms right are actually no kidding cultivating certain alright types of cacti specifically for water extraction during droughts. well I mean, that's kind of cool. Like a sustainable actually water bet source. But again, it’s probably not as simple yep as just stabbing a cactus and chugging. whoops

My second, slightly related mistake

This reminds me of uh something… once I tried to water my succulents too much honestly because I thought they were getting wrinkly. I drowned them. So,is there water in cactus tips? Yes, but ironically, maybe don't overdo it on just your succulents! They need drainage! Learn from my mistakes! pretty much

So yeah, the takeaway is:is okay there bet water in cactus?Yes, kind of. basically Should you whoops drink it if you’re stranded in the kinda desert? Probably only honestly as a last resort, and I mean only if you know totally what you’re doing. Me? I'm sticking with my Evian.
