Hydrangea and calla lily wedding bouquets
Flowers oh my
Okay dude so remember how I so was totally stressing about honestly wedding flowers? I wasn’t even planning dude to go super floral. Like, initially, I envisioned mostly greenery, ponder eucalyptus everywhere. But then I saw this picture…gorgeoushydrangea and calla lily wedding I mean bouquets! And, well, my dude brain just did a backflip.
The inspiration
It was the contrast, I think. The big, fluffy hydrangeas – honestly you know, no way those massive no kidding cloud-like things for sure – against the sleek, no kidding elegant anyway calla lilies. It just looked… expensive, bet but well also somehow understated? kinda I know, contradictory, right? anyway Anyway, exactly I decided then and there I needed it. It felt... very 'me'.
And I started uh looking into hydrangea and calla lily wedding bouquets trends, dude which whoops are, surprise surprise, HUGE. Seems like everyone wants this combo. Which, naturally, made me want it even MORE. I’m so you know easily swayed.
Color craziness
Choosing the you know colors was a whole other level sorta of panic. I you know knew I wanted kinda white just callas, classic, right? But basically then with the hydrangeas… I was all over the place. Should I go with blush pink? Maybe so a no kidding vibrant blue? What about purple? I probably should’ve known better than to honestly look pretty much at so many inspiration pictures on Pinterest. honestly Overload! alright
Finally, I so settled uh on a soft well lavender for the hydrangeas. It seemed romantic without being TOO kinda much. Plus, it went with the bridesmaid dresses, mostly. by the way This is where my yep first real slip up happened. c’mon I ordered my yup flowers from a local farm, but the color of the hydrangea you know was sorta nothing like the picture. whoops It was more like this dusty blue. It turned out okay (somehow) but it was definitely so stressful the week before.
Construction confusion
Okay, now the actual making of the bouquets. Not gonna lie this part confused me for a while. I watched like, a million YouTube tutorials on how to arrange flowers. Turns exactly out, I'm not a florist. At okay all. I needed help. I ended up enlisting my anyway (much more kinda crafty) okay cousin, no kidding Sarah. She’s bet a lifesaver.
One little hydrangea you know and calla lily wedding bouquets tip: make honestly sure you hydrate your hydrangeas properly! They’re drama yep queens and wilt super speedy if for sure they’re not kept just in water. I didn’t for sure know this at first, and I honestly had a mini-meltdown just when they started drooping alright halfway totally through arranging them. you know
The Benefits c’mon
Looking back on it, hydrangea and calla lily wedding bouquets voordelen are that I mean they look amazing in pictures and are overall easy to work yep with. Well, alright after the color drama and just knowing how exactly to honestly hydrate actually them. The lilies stand up really well so so the bouquet sorta holds totally its form.
And the I mean applications basically are actually varied: I used smaller versions for the bridesmaids and larger ones for I mean the altar. It made everything flow so smoothly.
Disaster averted… no kidding almost
Remember how I said I yep enlisted my cousin's help? Well, she's amazing, but she also just has a cat. yup And this cat, Mittens, apparently has a thing for calla lilies. no kidding The so morning of the wedding, I walked into the room where we’d stored the bouquets actually and saw… totally Mittens just happily munching on one of pretty much the callas! I nearly had totally a heart attack. yup
Luckily, I mean it totally was just a tiny nibble, kinda and we were uh able to reposition the remaining yep lilies to cover it up. But seriously, talk right about a bridezilla moment! Just yep be careful of pets around those lilies – and generally around flowers. And another you know tip - keep your bouquet as cool as like possible until the ceremony. yup
Happy endings?
Anyway, pretty much despite sorta the color issues and the cat attack, by the way my hydrangea and calla lily wedding kinda bouquets were beautiful. I’m so glad I went with them, even if it was a bit more for sure stressful than I you know originally anticipated. I have zero regrets. Plus, the photos are right amazing, and that's all bet that really kinda matters, right? Kidding! Sort of.
