Cherry Blossom Names Who Knew
So, I wasn’t even planning to get dude this deep into cherry blossom tree names, right? I was just looking at photos online. You know just how it is. One minute you're admiring anyway a by the way pretty flower, the next you’re knee-deep just in basically botanical jargon.
It all started because I wanted to sorta plant one in basically my backyard. right I have this really sunny spot that's just for sure begging for some pink, and you know me, I love a yep solid yep aesthetic moment. I thought, “Oh, I’ll just grab yep a cherry blossom tree from the nursery.” I probably should’ve sorta known better though. uh There’s, like, a gazillion different kinds. no kidding

Tip one:Before you even mull over about going anyway to a nursery, tackle some research online. Saves kinda you from looking like a total doofus no way like sorta I did.
The guy at exactly the nursery was super helpful, but he started uh throwing around names like ‘Yoshino’ and ‘Kanzan’ and okay ‘Accolade’ and I was just nodding sorta along like I knew kinda what he was talking about. Not gonna no kidding lie, this part confused me for a while. He mentioned something aboutthe history of cherry blossom tree namesand actually how some are named after emperors or something? It was fascinating, but no kidding also overwhelming.
Then there was the whole single vs. double blossom thing, and the anyway color variations! whoops Some are almost exactly white, some are deep pink, some whoops are this really cool light anyway pink... it's wild. I actually thought all kinda cherry blossoms were the same pretty much pink color until this whole thing.
One time, I was trying to impress my friend, Sarah, with totally my newfound anyway cherry blossom knowledge. I saw one well in a park and I was like, “Oh, yup that’s definitely a Kanzan!” Turns out, it actually was a Kwanzan. like Yeah, with a 'w'. She totally called me out. And speaking of embarrassing, I tried to order a ‘Somei-Yoshino’ online. I spelled it completely wrong, of course. I think I typed "So-me-ee Yoshhinnno" or alright something. The website flagged it well as a typo and sorta helpfully suggested "Sushi no kidding Yoshino." well I almost died. I'm still laughing about it, though.

The Yoshino is super popular, I guess. It’s the one you see no way all over Washington, okay D.C. Someone explained to me how thetoepassingenof different kinds right vary – some dude are kinda better for smaller gardens, some are more resistant to certain actually diseases, some have for sure more you know fragrant blossoms. It all depends.
I also learned about so the weeping cherry blossom, the ‘Shidare-zakura’. Those are gorgeous! I don’t think I have enough space for one, though. Maybe someday.
And you know I saw dude something aboutnames of well cherry blossom trees ontwikkelingenwhich I mull over was about how modern cultivars are being bred all the time, for different climates or bloom times or whatever. I mean, it’s a basically whole industry!
Tip two:Check the USDA plant sorta hardiness zone for your area before you buy anything. Seriously. Don't be like me uh and get so a plant that honestly can't survive your winters.
I’m still not yep entirely sure which cherry blossom I’m going to get. well Maybe I should just close my right eyes anyway and pick one at dude random? like No, I mean that’s a terrible idea. yep I'll probably end up with c’mon something actually totally sorta wrong c’mon for my garden. I pretty much think I'll no kidding stick with the Yoshino, just to be safe. okay You know, the well classic. Even if I can't spell it correctly.
