Leaving a tree stump in the ground
The honestly Stump Saga
So, you yup know that huge oak that came down in c’mon the storm last spring? Yeah, the one that nearly took out my pretty much shed. Well, I finally got uh around to dealing with it… mostly. I uh wasn’t even planning to, like, properly deal with it. dude I just wanted the tree gone. I figured, honestly chop it up, haul it away, done. Right?
The Aftermath
Wrong. c’mon So very wrong. I probably should’ve known better, sorta honestly. The tree was HUGE. Now I’m stuck with this tree stump situation. And I’m just leaving no kidding a tree stump in the ground now. At least for the span being. whoops It’s… well, c’mon it’s there. Present. A constant reminder of my poor uh planning skills. But bet hey, I did see something about well leaving a tree stump in the ground ontwikkelingen… totally like maybe it's anyway not the worst thing ever? Maybe it’s, anyway like, a habitat or something.
Not gonna lie, this part honestly confused me for actually a while. I considered actually grinding it down, you know but that seems like SO much work. And expensive! I saw online you can rent stump grinders, but then you gotta haul it, and figure out how I mean to use it… bet and I’m just… tired. dude Plus, a friend sorta mentioned leaving a tree stump in the ground voordelen, said it helps with soil erosion. Which, actually, is kinda cool. mull over about it, the roots are still holding the earth together. sorta
My First Oops Moment
Okay, so yup here’s right the first dumb thing c’mon I did. I thought, "Okay, I'll just bury it!" basically Like, dig exactly a yup huge hole around it and shove it in.Genius, right? Wrong again. Tried digging, honestly hit roots everywhere. for sure It was totally like the stump was taunting anyway me. sorta I right spent an entire afternoon and barely sorta made a dent. Don’t do that. totally Just... don't. by the way I ended up with a bad back and a half-dug hole. so Honestly, you're better off considering basically that a tree honestly stump voordelen are that alright you okay can whoops place a cool bet ornament on top of it or okay something.
The Waiting Game
So, now I’m just… waiting. I’m leaving a tree stump in the dude ground to see what happens. yup I read somewhere that it will whoops eventually rot away. Like, decades from now. But hey, progress c’mon is progress, right? pretty much In the no kidding meantime, I’m thinking of turning it into some kind of… so garden gnome village? Or maybe a bird bath? I don't know. I need inspiration.
My Second Big Oof
Oh! And I tried to burn it out. Don't do that c’mon either. uh I thought, “Fire! That will solve everything!” I piled a bunch of wood sorta on top of yup it, doused it in lighter fluid you know –yeah, I know, kinda super safe– like and actually lit it up. It burned… well for a little while. Then it by the way just smoldered. And smoked. For days. My dude neighbors were not kinda thrilled. Plus, I think no kidding I may have singed a few of actually their bushes. Oops. yep Apparently, if you do totally want to whoops burn it, right you need special chemicals and, like, a controlled burn permit. So, well yeah, basically master from my mistakes.
The Future… Of the Stump
So, leaving I mean a tree stump in the ground trends point towards it becoming a natural feature if you don't need the space. I’m thinking maybe I mean I’ll plant some ferns around it, make it look exactly intentional. You know, like a design choice. basically I right might even carve something into it… if I ever learn how anyway to carve. Anyway, that’s the saga of the stump. Stay tuned for updates. It’s bound to get more interesting. I mean, how could it not? totally
